Campari Light Ingo Maurer

Born on the island from Reicheneau in Germany, Ingo Maurer studied the graphic arts in Munich of 1954 to 1958. In 1960, he leaves Allemegne for the USA where it is established like independent designer until 1963.
It melts in 1966 Design M in Munich and presents its first lamp: Bulb.

In 1986, it is made Chevalier of Arts and the Letters by the French Minister for the culture. In March 1999, it collaborates with the Japanese fashion designer Issey Miyake for the catwalk in the Villette (Paris) an immense scene in the spectacular special effects.

Ingo Maurer is a true "poet of the light". After studies of graphics in Munich, it goes to the United States, where he works with pop art. In 1966, it melts its firm Design M and specializes in the experimental lamps. IngoMaurer is accustomed to baptizing its works of sometimes humorous names, sometimes poetic (Lucellino, Birds Birds Birds, Where you are Edison...?). Among his creations with success, one finds Bulb (1966), bulb in the bulb, One from the heart (1989), standard lamp in form of heart and Zettel' Z (1997), ceiling light where one can hang cribs. Ingo Maurer is especially famous for its halogenous system very flexible Yayaho (1984) where lighting is provided by tiny bulbs. Maurer lamps form part of the permanent collection of the MOMA of New York.
