Pressed Glass is a range of design light designed by Tom Dixon. Each shade in the Pressed Glass collection is created by compressing molten glass into a hollow mould which is then annealed in a kiln to form a robust object. The production process does not allow for intervention, and so small variations such as tiny air bubbles often occur within the finished product.
Pressed Lens is like a pressed lens ! Strillée slightly, this reminds us of a lantern suspended Asian paper. Pressed Lens combines with the full range to create your mood.

Born in
Sfax, Tunisia, in 1959, to a French mother and English father, Tom Dixon moved
to Great Britain at the age of four years. He entered "Chelsea Art
School" for six months and joined a disco-punk band called Funkapolitan as
a bassist.
His artistic
career began when he discovered pleasure in welding while repairing damaged
motorcycle frames, after having been forced to leave his band because he broke
his leg in a motorcycle accident. Twenty years later, in 2002, became known as
a designer, Tom Dixon in partnership with David Begg founded his own
manufacturing company. The company develops its own collections of design lighting
and contemporary furniture. Recognized in the whole world for his creations,
Tom Dixon works successively with many furniture manufacturers. He was awarded
an OBE for services to British Design in 2000.
